Q & A (How to hIre a P.I.)
Hiring an investigator may be uncharted waters for many people and often a difficult decision. We have listed several questions and key things to consider when looking to hire a private investigation firm.
Things to consider
- Ask if they are licensed in that state and request a copy of their license.
- Ask how long they have been in business and their experience.
- Ask for a Contract with rates and charges outlined.
- Ask if they offer the ability to send you the report, with proof elements, online for faster turnaround.
- Make sure you are comfortable with them.
- If you left a message, did they call you within a reasonable time.
- Discuss when you will be updated on the case.
Lastly, if they promise you they will "catch that person, no problem". RUN..don't walk.
We have found no reputable investigation company will promise results, simply because this is not possible due to many variables that come into play while working on a case. For
example, the target could run a red light and the investigator can not safely follow them through it or the target starts to drive erratically suspecting they are being followed.
