With the production of cheap covert cameras (wireless or tethered), hidden microphones and digital recorders are flooding the market from China and other overseas countries. They are easily obtained online with no questions asked. 

(Not to raise paranoia but someone with a mild understanding of technology could easily setup an IP covert camera and use your internet connection to view your residence remotely.) 

The perpetrator could be anyone from an ex-spouse who wants to continue their demented control, a past acquaintance or someone who saw you at the grocery store and has become fixated on you. 

Our investigators know what to look for that may raise suspicions. We always get the question, "Do you have all that fancy equipment like on TV?" and our reply is on a general sweep it is not usually required. After our sweep if, we believe there is something deeper going on of great sophistication, we will discuss your options for a TSCM (Technical Surveillance Countermeasure) expert to come in. Cost wise, the general range is a couple hundred dollars (based on size of the location) to several thousands dollars if a TSCM expert is brought in.
